Friends .. best friends ... ??
Our history books,our mythology , our epics say it all .. don't they?
Its over five thousand years .. that Mahabharta took place and Ramayana was much way back ... in Satyug...
And the Indian mythology has set examples .. milestones when it come to friendship
Friendship -means devotion, divine, heavenly, sacrifice, selflessness and has many other attributes ...
The epics depict the friendship between Ram and Sugreeva , Krishna and Sudama, Karna and Duryodhan, Krishna and Arjun and above all the platonic friendship shared by Draupadi and Krishna .....
Their friendship was divine, selfless, devotional - a relation more like God and his pupil...
Though mythological, these true friendships still exists .. we need to rediscover our inner selves , incarnate the new - human with in us - through cultural depictions.
Such platonic devotional friendships symbolizes the bond shared between souls - it portray's the ethos and saga of the human and God devotional relationship which needs be revisited ... redefined ... re-framed ... in today's context ...
